I-ACCESS deals with the problem of accessibility of cultural heritage, combining the needs of conservation and restoration with those of a more complete enjoyment even by disadvantaged users

The project develops innovative technological solutions for improving the physical accessibility of cultural heritage in the historic centres of Palermo and Valletta through the creation of dedicated routes where users with visual, auditory or motor disabilities can move independently and interact with intelligent objects located along the routes themselves.

Expected Results:
N.6 Enterprises that adopt new technologies and services to improve the physical and cultural accessibility of cultural heritage

Through the construction of ICT applications, the project improves accessibility to content, thanks to the creation of databases, WEB services and applications to make use of geo-localized and multi-media information relating to the points of interest available along the itineraries carried out

Project activities will realize:

1 WebGis platform for the improvement of accessibility of the itineraries identified in the historical centres of Palermo and Valletta

30 Enterprises or start-ups operating in the tourism, social sector and ICT sectors that use prototypal "open access" applications that allow to use the itineraries identified

1 Database containing information on the routes and the information connected to them for the areas of Palermo and Valletta

1 APP for the supply of information on routes and goods with solutions (specific voice and text support) to facilitate their use by motor disabled, blind/visually impaired, hearing impaired
