General information

The Cooperation Programme Interreg VA Italy-Malta has been approved with Commission Implementing Decision C(2015) 7046 final of the 12 October 2015 and adopted by the Regional Government Council with resolution n. 281 of the 18 November 2015.

The Cooperation Programme promotes the integrated development between Italy and Malta in high technology sectors, aims to create conditions for a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and aims to develop the potential of some areas of common interest for the territories of the area such as environmental protection, security of land and sea, cultural heritage, quality of life and health of citizens

Budget

Financial resources of the Cooperation Programme are equal to € 51,708,438

The European Fund for Regional Development (ERDF) contributes with an amount equal to 43.952.171, which corresponds to the 85% of the resources. The remainder, amounting to € 7,756,267, is financed by the national counterpart

Programme budget is divided as follows:

27,80% to finance initiatives linked to the Priority Axis 1 implementation
19,20% to finance initiatives linked to the Priority Axis 2 implementation
46.17% to finance initiatives linked to the Priority Axis 3 implementation

The remaining portion of the resources contributes to the sound management, implementation, supervision and monitoring of the program (Priority Axis 4)

Current financial budget takes into account axis funds reallocation adopted with the Commission Implementing Decision C (2021) 1351 final of 23.02.2021 (more info here).
