Today is the International Day of the Mediterranean Sea.
Despite having an area of about 1% of all seas, the Mediterranean is home to over 12 thousand marine species, i.e. between 4 and 12% of the world’s marine biodiversity.
The INTERREG VA Italia Malta Program with its projects Bess, Harmony, CalypsoSouth, News, Fast, AMPPA, Corallo, Bioblu, Senhar, SeaMarvel protects the Mediterranean and works to safeguard marine ecosystems, to prevent natural and anthropogenic risks, to raise awareness of the health of the Mare Nostrum and the dangers that threaten it.
