The Steering Committee of the “AMPPA – Aree Marine Protette e Pesca Artigianale. Gestione integrata attraverso la sensibilizzazione e l’educazione ambientale” project took place from 21 to 23 April in Gozo.
The project is funded by the Programme under the Notice 2.2019 within the S.O. 3.1 – To contribute towards the arrest of the loss of terrestrial and marine biodiversity in the area, maintain and reactivate the ecosystem and the protected area.
The works of the three days of meetings were characterized by cooperation, discussion, exchange of knowledge and good practices aimed at improving the management of the marine protected areas of western Sicily and Malta.
Participating in the meetings were the delegations of the Marine Protected Areas of the Egadi Islands and the Island of Ustica and Gozo, the Department of Mediterranean Fisheries – Sicily Region, the municipalities of Gharb and Ghajnsielem, and the Maltese Government (the Authority for environment and resources and the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture).
