PRIVACY NOTICE FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA PURSUANT TO ART. 13 OF EU REGULATION 679/2016
The Presidency of the Sicilian Region – Department of Planning, as Data Controller (hereinafter “Controller”), informs you, pursuant to Art. 13 of EU Regulation 679/2016 (hereinafter “GDPR”), that your data will be processed in the manner and for the purposes described below:
1. Subject of the processing
The Controller processes personal identification data, such as IP address, name, email, telephone number, postal address, geographic location (hereinafter “Data”) provided by you while browsing our website, purchasing or subscribing to services or, in general, within a pre-contractual or contractual relationship with the Controller.
2. Cookies and site tracking
In compliance with EU Directive 2009/136/EC of 25/11/2009, the Controller informs you that this website uses cookies or similar tools to improve our service and provide users with useful features.

A cookie contains contact information and useful data to identify the computer or device when visiting our website, in order to help the user achieve a better browsing experience. 3. Purpose of the processing
Your personal data are processed, without your prior consent (Art. 6 letters b), c) GDPR), solely to comply with obligations provided by laws, regulations, or EU legislation, or imposed by Authorities; to protect the Controller’s rights in judicial proceedings and manage any disputes; and for the prevention and suppression of unlawful acts.
It is understood that, if you do not wish to consent to the processing of your data for the purposes indicated above, this will not prevent you from accessing the website and using its available functionalities.
4. Processing methods and retention
Processing will be carried out using the operations indicated in Art. 4 GDPR and may take place through IT systems (cloud, internet, intranet, computers, and mobile devices) and automated processes, as well as in paper form (archives).
Your data will be stored in the Controller’s databases only for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected and processed, in compliance with the law and as specified above, except where applicable laws require longer retention periods.
5. Nature of data provision and consequences of refusal
The provision of personal identification data is necessary for the execution of obligations arising from laws, regulations, or EU legislation and is optional for the provision of certain online services. Any refusal may result in the total or partial inability to provide the requested services or performance.
6. Access to data
Your data will be processed for the purposes mentioned above by employees and/or collaborators of the Controller, in their capacity as persons authorized to process data and/or internal data processing managers and/or system administrators.
7. Rights of the data subject
At any time, you may exercise your rights towards the Data Controller, pursuant to Articles 15-22 of EU Regulation 2016/679, including the rights of access, rectification, integration, and, where applicable, data portability, as well as the right to obtain erasure, restriction, or objection to processing for legitimate reasons, and to object to automated decision-making processes, including profiling. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority by contacting the Controller or the DPO, if appointed, using the methods indicated below:

In order to ensure the protection of personal information, we may need to request specific additional information to confirm the identity of the requesting data subject and thus ensure that access to personal data (or the exercise of any other rights) is granted only to those entitled to receive such information. This is an additional security measure to protect personal data.
Requests to access personal data (or to exercise any of the above rights) are free of charge. However, if the request is clearly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee taking into account administrative costs or refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
